Sentence-making - Penguins on Ice This link offers 3 sentence-making activities: ‘Make a Sentence’, ‘Which mark?’ and ‘Make it Interesting’. It is best to view it on the Big Screen option. Each activity takes a little time to load. There is also a printable activity sheet which gives a flavour of the game using some of the questions

Can You Make Sense of a Sentence? This link leads to an on-line game for pupils, a printable activity and advice for teachers on how to use this resource.

 
Molly Mix-up This is a paired activity. Pupil A types in a jumbled up sentence and Pupil B has to rearrange the words into the correct order by clicking on the words in the right sequence.

BBC Starship – Synonyms In this activity pupils have to recognise synonyms and are encouraged to use a wide variety of words in their own writing. Using the Big Screen Start Button is easiest.


 
Using Synonyms This unit encourages vocabulary extension as an effective way of improving narrative or poetry. This link provides a smartboard lesson, online lesson and a post test.
